We have this absolutely awesome senior citizen stick-shift
Mercedes 190.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
1962 Mercedes 190 4 door
4 cylinder manual
Car will start and run off of a gas can. The gas tank is there I just
have not tried running it off of it. This is a project car but in
pretty good shape. Clutch needs adjusted? Brakes need work. Interior
and body are in good shape. Thinking car was originally black?
I have 3 beauty rings and center caps for the wheels.
has after market radio. Not sure if it works.
Not sure if mileage is accurate or add 100,000? I think with the shape the car is in its accurate.
car will need to be towed - I can deliver for a fee depending on where you live.
clean title
What an awesome piece of historical iron. For $2800? I say NP all day. Worth it for that red interior and what I think is a three on the tree gearshift.
What say you, Oppo?

I’d probably buy it if it was down the street from me. I would like an older Mercedes, I like my W123 but it’s just not good for rallies.

I’d say OK if one wants a fun easy DIY driver , but tread with care - rust in the sills might be starting up, and these things can go quick. Warrants close inspection. It’ll be a labor of love either way, although it would sell quick in Europe for that money, where the cars are worth a lot more. Looks like the car would do well with a heavy detail. I’d be a lot more comfortable if it ran and drove on its own at that price, use the fuel system issue as a negotiating tool to get it to 2K.
For the seller’s question, paint code should be on a plate on the radiator support near the hood latch. Th e trunk being black is correct, all fintails have a flat black trunk area, but the engine bay should be body color.

Man I feel old. I grew up bouncing around one of these as a kid. My Mom had one in the late 70's. Three on the tree and a vertical speedo. Neat cars. Even though I never drove it I do recall it being slow to go and even slower to stop. I think they had under 100hp.
The smell of leather in those old Benz’s was heavenly. But I’m sure the rust repairs and cost of used parts would be hellish.
If you had an extra 5-10K to spend for repairs it would be a fun car. Well, I don’t think I’d ever call these old Benz’s “fun” - but they are “cool”.
